A reforma do ensino médio no Chile: vitrina para a América Latina? Reform of mid level teaching in Chile: showcase for Latin America?

A reforma chilena tem sido apontada, principalmente por organismos internacionais, como modelo a ser seguido pela América Latina. A insistência nessa tese justifica a pesquisa desenvolvida em Santiago, que enfocou 12 escolas, em que foram entrevistados diretores e alguns professores. Representante do sindicato de professores e funcionários do Ministério da Educação também foram ouvidos. Diversos documentos oficiais foram estudados. O objetivo foi esclarecer como a reforma repercute nos agentes escolares encarregados de transformar as diretrizes em prática administrativa e pedagógica. O texto privilegia a discussão do financiamento e dos mecanismos de mercado introduzidos no sistema. Conclui que o avanço técnico-pedagógico alcançado não tem impedido que sérios agravos à justiça social sejam registrados.<br>The Chilean reform has been pointed to (mostly by international agencies) as a model to be followed by Latin America. An insistence on this hypothesis justified the research developed in Santiago which focussed on 12 schools, where directors and some teachers were interviewed, and representatives of the teachers' unions and the Ministry of Education were also heard. Various official documents were studied for the purpose of clarifying how the reform has impacted on the school agents charged with transforming the directives in administrative and pedagogical practice. The text prioritizes discussion of financing and market mechanisms introduced into the system. It concludes that the technical pedagogical advances achieved have not prevented serious damage to social justice from being registered.
