Circulações e geopolítica nas artes visuais

As pesquisas sobre a circulação de agentes, artefatos e conceitos nas artes visuais têm contribuído para a prática de uma história da arte transnacional e transcultural, que busca desafiar as fronteiras geográficas e políticas, além de problematizar os cânones hegemônicos de historicização. Assim, ao analisar as redes transnacionais de artistas, a circulação de obras e ideias, e a formação de circuitos artísticos periféricos e alternativos, os textos aqui reunidos contribuem para uma compreensão mais ampla e inclusiva da arte, descentralizando o olhar e questionando as hierarquias estabelecidas. Além disso, com suas múltiplas metodologias e premissas teóricas, eles permitem a observação da complexidade do cenário cultural transnacional durante a Guerra Fria, e incitam a reflexão sobre novas maneiras de abordar a história da arte, valorizando os contextos locais, as relações transnacionais e as diversas formas de resistência e apropriação cultural. Research on the circulation of agents, artifacts and concepts in the visual arts has contributed to the practice of a transnational and transcultural art history, which seeks to challenge geographic and political borders, in addition to problematizing hegemonic canons of historicization. Thus, by analyzing transnational networks of artists, the circulation of works and ideas, and the formation of peripheral and alternative artistic circuits, the texts gathered here contribute to a broader and more inclusive understanding of art, decentralizing the view and questioning established hierarchies. Furthermore, with their multiple methodologies and theoretical premises, they allow observation of the complexity of the transnational cultural scenario during the Cold War, and encourage reflection on new ways of approaching art history, valuing local contexts, transnational relations and various forms of resistance and cultural appropriation.
