Los héroes en la construcción de legitimidad

Este trabajo se propone describir, a través de un recorrido bibliográfico, la importancia que desde los gobiernos, y en especial las dictaduras brasileña (1964-1985) y argentina (1976-1983), se les dio a los héroes nacionales. Para esto nos centraremos en la comparación de Tiradentes y San Martín, dos figuras emblemáticas en las historias de Brasil y Argentina. Nos proponemos confrontar a estos personajes por su importancia histórica y también por sus diferencias, habiendo llegado ambos al status de próceres a través de disímiles recorridos. Los héroes son parte de los símbolos creados por las naciones para generar sentimientos y unión nacional. Son figuras que se destacaron en la historia de un país, pero que luego son llevados, por los gobiernos y en función de sus necesidades coyunturales, al status de mitos donde sus acciones se glorifican y su persona para a ser inmortal. Estos son los casos de San Martín y de Tiradentes. Las dictaduras argentina y brasileña se valieron de la figura de estos héroes, entre otros símbolos, durante sus gobiernos. La relevancia de estudiar cómo los héroes son retomados por estos regímenes es, que nos permitirá entender cómo éstos formaron parte de su estrategia por la búsqueda de legitimidad. This paper intends to describe, through a literature course, the importance that governments gave, especially the Brazilian (1964-1985) and Argentinean (1976-1983) dictatorships, to national heroes. For this purpose, we will focus on the comparison between Tiradentes and San Martin, two emblematic figures in the histories of Brazil and Argentina. We intend to confront these characters for their historical significance and their differences, both having reached the status of heroes through dissimilar routes. The heroes are part of the symbols created by nations to generate feelings and national unity. They are figures that were prominent in the history of a country, but then are taken by governments and, based on short-term needs, turned into myths, glorifying their actions and becoming immortal. These are the cases of San Martin and Tiradentes. The dictatorships in Argentina and Brazil took advantage of the figure of these heroes, among other symbols, during their governments. The relevance of studying how the heroes are taken up by these regimes is, allowing us to understand how they formed part of their strategy for the search for legitimacy. Fil: Lederman, Florencia.
