Jejunal Inflammatory Fibroid Polyp: An Uncommon Cause of Small Bowel Intussusception

Inflammatory fibroid polyp (IFP) is a rare, benign lesion of the gastrointestinal tract. Its clinical presentation varies depending on the size and anatomical location of the lesion. In this case, we report a patient who presented with signs and symptoms consistent with small bowel obstruction. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) revealed jejuno-jejunal intussusception. The patient subsequently underwent surgical resection of the affected small bowel segment, followed by primary anastomosis. Intraoperatively, a polypoid mass was identified as the pathological lead point for the intussusception. Histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of an inflammatory fibroid polyp.
