Resumen

Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

INTRODUCTION. The problem of linguistic and cultural symbolization of the natural phenomenon of winter in the German linguistic consciousness is considered. The purpose of the study was to prove the symbolic nature of the linguistic and cultural concept Winter/Zima in modern German-language prose, and to show its influence on the modeling of artistic reality and the formation of reader perception. RESEARCH METHODS. The research methodology is based on a contextual analysis of the use of the lexeme der Winter and included a consistent analysis of its conceptual, value and figurative components based on the material of dictionary entries, awards and works-nominees of the German Book Prize 2024. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. As a result, it is proved that the conceptual signs «холод» and «тьма» motivate an extensive network of value and figurative characteristics. It is established that the symbol Winter/Zima is structured around binary oppositions cold/warmth, darkness/light, external threat/internal security. It is revealed that winter is associated with trials, loneliness, the need for preparation, but also with winter fun. The role of the historical context, which enhances the tragic symbolism of winter through its connection with Russia is analyzed. CONCLUSION. The results obtained are important for cultural linguistics and cognitive linguistics, as they demonstrate the mechanisms of formation and functioning of complex symbols in linguistic consciousness and artistic discourse. The practical value of the research lies in the possibility of applying its conclusions in the analysis of artistic texts, in the practice of intercultural communication and teaching German as a foreign language. It is concluded that the goal has been achieved: the concept of Winter/Zima is a multifaceted linguistic and cultural symbol that actively shapes artistic reality and reader’s perception.
