Resumen

INTRODUCTION. Psychological diagnostics of three generations of television game show “What? Where? When?” has been relevant in an attempt to establish the phenomenon of victories over TV viewers for fifty years now. The aim of the study is to create psychological profiles of players from different generations of the game show “What? Where? When?” MATERIALS AND METHODS. To identify psychological personality traits, graphic research methods were used, as well as M. Lüscher’s color test for diagnosing personality states and behavioral strategies. The participants’ chosen pseudonyms were used for the self-presentation analysis. The study was anonymous and as objective as possible. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. The study revealed that most players in the game show are introverts, meaning that introverted types are the dominant psychological types according to C. Jung. As the test results showed, all players are dominated by three out of eight types according to C. Jung, and all of them belong to introverted types. This was somewhat unexpected, as the players are participating in a television program watched by millions of viewers. The second most dominant type is the “Emotional Introvert”. In third place is the “Thinking Introvert” type, while the other 5 types are not represented at all, which indicates a certain specificity in the personality traits of the game show experts. The thinking introverted type is dominant in the “veteran” group and the middle group of players, while the “emotional introvert” type is most characteristic of the younger group. This indicates that as participation in the game continues, the psychological quality of intuition is strengthened. CONCLUSION. Based on the research, we can conclude that the modern understanding of psychological types needs to be significantly more complex. Changes and development in psychological type require close attention, which should be realized through extensive experimental research. Furthermore, individual psychological personality traits imply a hierarchy of types as qualitative differences in multi-level properties: psychophysiological, psychological, and socio-psychological, which are studied by psychology.
