Losy studentów historii Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego podczas II wojny światowej w świetle egodokumentów pochodzących z Archiwum UJ

The article shows war and occupation experiences of Jagiellonian University history students. This article is based on their own life stories sourced from the Archives of the Jagiellonian University. Their accounts are part of university papers. The author considers them ego-documents. The outbreak of The Second World War interrupted their higher education. Undergraduates took part in the secret teaching programmes. The accounts of their life stories describe conditions during Nazi German and Soviet occupation of Poland. They did forced labour, which caused many health problems. Students and their family members were prisoners of the Nazi German concentration camps. The author depicts pros and cons of ego-documents. Students’ life stories are autobiographical, subjective, but also full of information. The accounts present their educational background, personal life as well as conditions during war and occupation.
