Relation Between Circadian Blood Pressure Variation and Estimated GFR in Normotensives

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of circadian blood pressure variation on estimated GFR in normotensive patients who have normal serum creatinine levels. MATERIAL and METHODS: In this retrospective study, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring of 102 patients was performed with the Suntech AccuWin ProV3. RESULTS: 50 (49%) out of 102 patients were female and 52 (51%) were male with a mean age of 49.8±15.6 years. When patients were divided into dipper and nondipper groups according to night systolic blood pressure (SBP) reduction, Egfr levels were significantly different between the groups. When the partial correlation test was performed, the night SBP reduction rate was associated with serum creatinine (r= -0.312, p=0.002) and eGFR (r= 0.319, p=0.002). CONCLUSION: In normotensive nondipper individuals with normal serum creatinine levels, the circadian blood pressure can affect the level of eGFR
