Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

It is reeported in the literatures that the incidence of sleep disorders is high (50-83 %) in hemodialysis patients, possibly resulting in poorer quality of life. This study is designed and carried out in order to evaluate sleep status of hemodialysis patients with chronic renal failure. In our study, the 97.4 % of patients expressed any complaint about sleep. These complaints are difficulty in beginning to sleep (30.8 %), awakening with respiratory distress (28.2 %), frequent awakening (23.0 %) and sleeping during daytime (15.4 %). It is found in the study that education level of the patient, cigarette smoking and hemoglobin levels are influencing the postsleep evaluation points of sleep quality. In conclusion, sleep disorders are frequent in haemodialysis patients. The underlying concomitant disorders must be searched in order to improve quality oflife
