Resumen

Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

Measurement of glomerular area and volume have been studied for native kidney biopsies, but much less for renal transplant biopsies. Relationship of histopathological findings of zero hour biopsies with baseline glomerular area (BGA) and BGA with post transplant creatinine values have not been studied much. In this study, we have searched correlation of baseline glomerular area of 40 living related renal transplant case with post transplant creatinine values of baseline, l", 6" month and 1" and 2'" year. At the same time we have studied correlation of donor age, histopathological total scores (TS) and percentage of glomerulosclerosis (PGS) with BGA. There was no correlation between BGA and post transplant creatinine values, age, TS and PGS. Donor age was correlated with all creatinine values, PGS and TS. TS was corelated with baseline, 1st and 6st months creatinine values and PGS. PGS was correlated with all creatinine values. Average creatinine values, TS, PGS of donors elder than 50 were significantly higher but for BGA there was no significant difference. There was no significant findings for creatinine values, BGA, TS, PGS between male and female groups. Measurement of BGA in the biopsies during the transplantation or after the transplantation may be valuable for determination of graft function. In this study we didn't find any correlation between BGA and post transplant creatinine values, TS and PGS. In the follow up biopsies, it may be valuable to study the correlation of changes in glomerular area and the graft function.
