CONTINUOUS AMBULATORY PERITONEAL DIALYSIS IN CHILDREN WITH CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE

This study reports our experience on 54 children undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) over a period of eight years. The mean age was 11 years. The avarage follow up period was findings were examined before and at the sixth month ofÇAPD therapy. Analysis of the local and medical complications were made during the study period. Six patients died during the whole study period. In spite of the high incidence of complications it was shown that CAPD produced significant improvement in the clinical and laboratory status of the patients.
