Resumen

Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

Aim: Secularism is defined as the process by which individuals become independent from religious beliefs, while bricolage activities refer to the ability to produce creative solutions using available resources. This study aims to examine the relationship between nurses' levels of secularism and their perceptions of bricolage activities. Method: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between October 15, 2023, and April 15, 2024, with 159 nurses who agreed to participate. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Secularism Scale, and the Bricolage Scale. Descriptive statistics such as percentages, frequencies, and means were used for data analysis, while the Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis, and correlation tests were employed for comparing variables. Ethical committee approval and informed consent from participants were obtained. Results: The mean score of nurses on the Secularism Scale was 70.81 (SD=19.55). Female nurses had higher mean Secularism Scale scores, whereas those with higher income levels had lower scores. The mean score on the Bricolage Scale was 20.06 (SD=4.83). Nurses who were older, had lower income levels, longer work experience, and kept up-to-date with current nursing knowledge had higher Bricolage Scale scores. No significant correlation was found between the Secularism Scale and the Bricolage Scale scores. Conclusion: It is recommended to develop educational programs that enhance nurses' professional experience and integrate content such as case-based simulation training and resource management workshops into professional development programs to support creative problem-solving and bricolage skills.
