Aim: This cross-sectional study aimed to identify factors influencing clinical leadership competencies among healthcare professionals. Method: The sample included 406 participants, including physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, from both public and private hospitals in Istanbul, Türkiye. Data were collected through an online survey form, including the Personal Information Form, the Perceived Organizational Characteristics Form, and the Clinical Leadership Competency Framework-Self-Assessment Tool. Results: Education level, hospital type, job role, voluntary pursuit of a healthcare career, and receipt of management, leadership, and clinical leadership training significantly affect participants' Clinical Leadership Competency Framework-Self-Assessment Tool scores (p<0.05). Participants reported enhanced utilization of their clinical leadership competencies when the following ten criteria were met: administrative support for professional development; rights protection; appreciation; participation in problem-solving processes; exertion of extra effort; effective communication; strong communication with top management; involvement in decision-making processes; clear job descriptions; and supervision. Conclusion: The findings underscore the importance of organizational support in developing healthcare professionals' clinical leadership competencies, while also highlighting the role of individual factors such as job role, education level, and professional experience in shaping these competencies.
