Resumen

Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

Today’s main topic is global warming and carbon neutrality. We therefore investigate biofuel (Bio-Energy) in our living space; its amount is comparable to fossil fuel. We analyze the production of hydrogen by processing food waste that is one kind of biofuel, seriously polluting our living environment. Oil extracted from food waste is allowed to generate carbon dioxide emissions, and the hydrogen produced from it is the cleanest energy source. When targeting hydrogen charging stations for hydrogen cars, equipment that produces 300 m3 of hydrogen per hour by steam plasma-bio-oil reforming will cost $1 million per unit, and the High Value (water enthalpy −285.8 kJ/mole) energy efficiency of this equipment is estimated to be 83 %. When 1 kg of hydrogen is generated from bio-oil, it has the effect of reducing CO2 significantly in terms of global warming potential. The cost of producing 1 kg of hydrogen, including $1.0 for 5 kg of bio-oil, $1.0 for 15 kWh of electricity, and the cost of hydrogen production equipment and labor, is estimated to be $2.13. The cost of producing hydrogen is sensitive to the price of bio-oil. The fuel efficiency of Hyundai’s hydrogen car Nexo is 96.2 km/H2kg, and the Nexo can travel 615 km with hydrogen produced by reforming 27.7 kg of bio-oil. Under the grand goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, the eco-friendly cars will become the trend. It is specifically estimated the reduction in carbon emissions of these eco-friendly cars.
