Este artículo ofrece un panorama sobre los espacios de exhibición y consumo de arte contemporáneo en Chaco durante el siglo XXI. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio con un enfoque descriptivo y analítico, ya que el mercado del arte en Resistencia es un tema poco abordado en la investigación académica, y su análisis permitirá identificar las particularidades de la gestión cultural en el nordeste argentino. Desde aportes de la historia social del arte, los estudios sobre el mercado del arte y las políticas culturales, el artículo persigue un doble objetivo: por un lado, cartografiar el circuito de galerías y espacios de gestión de arte contemporáneo en Resistencia; por otro, examinar las problemáticas vinculadas a la gestión pública y privada de las artes de esta ciudad. Para ello, se analizan las dinámicas de institucionalización y profesionalización de artistas y gestores culturales en el nordeste argentino, estableciendo relaciones entre las iniciativas impulsadas desde las instituciones oficiales; los espacios alternativos de exhibición, intercambio y comercialización de arte; las políticas públicas orientadas al arte contemporáneo, y el papel desempeñado por agentes y referentes culturales en las últimas tres décadas. El artículo se estructura en tres secciones principales. En primer lugar, se presenta un panorama histórico de las artes en Resistencia, organizado cronológicamente. Posteriormente se examinan los procesos de institucionalización y profesionalización de la práctica artística. Finalmente, se describe el circuito de exhibición y gestión de arte en las últimas tres décadas y se analizan las condiciones que han propiciado la emergencia de un incipiente mercado artístico. This article offers an overview of the exhibition and consumption spaces for contemporary art in Chaco throughout the 21st century. It is an exploratory study with a descriptive and analytical approach, addressing a topic rarely examined in academic research: the art market in Resistencia. The analysis aims to identify the specific features of cultural management in northeastern Argentina. Drawing on contributions in the social history of art, art market studies, and cultural policy research, the article pursues a dual objective: on the one hand, to map the circuit of galleries and contemporary art management spaces in Resistencia; on the other, to examine the dynamics of public and private art management in this city. To achieve this, the study analyzes the dynamics of institutionalization and professionalization of artists and cultural managers in northeastern Argentina. It explores connections between official institutional initiatives , alternative spaces for exhibition, exchange, and commercialization of art, public policies oriented toward contemporary art, and the role played by cultural agents and key figures over the last three decades. The article is structured into three main sections. The first presents a chronological overview of the arts in Resistencia. The second examines the processes of institutionalization and professionalization of artistic practices. The third describes the exhibition and art management circuit over the the last thirty years and analyzes the conditions that have led to the emergence of an incipient art market.
