In the Thesis we consider the conceptual change processes, theoretical and methodological that modeled the development of social studies of science since its emergence to the present, to discuss the scope and limits of the humanist and poshumanist approach in the understanding of "human-non-human" relationship. Social Studies of Science constitute a marginal field of study within Philosophical Studies of Science and the Sociology. While in the recent decades they have led to significant progress in qualitative and quantitative understanding of science and technology, they have relegated the epistemological analysis of the explanatory models considered. In an attempt to give an account of the social nature of science and technology they don?t have repaired in the link to be drawn between the explanation of social science and the scientific explanation of "the social". In order to understand this link the Thesis analyzes the epistemological, ontological and methodological implications of the Social Study of Science treating "human-machine" or "human-non-human" relationship as a thread of Ariadne in the identification of breaks and continuities in the consideration of science and society?s connection. From this perspective we study the dynamics of conceptual change, and the theoretical and methodological approach that shaped the emergence and development of the Social Study of Science in relation to those who shaped the scientific study of "the social", it identifies the epistemological changes and the ontological and methodological tools that shaped the human dimension as a relevant topic, if not inevitable, in the social explanation of science, discusses the epistemological implications of the inclusion of the natural and/or artificial objects in the explanatory models of the Social Studies of Science in the context of poshumanist objection to the action theories that have taken the subject as epicenter of the analysis, and discusses the impact of such objetion in terms of a reordering of the links between the social study of science and the scientific study of "the social". Thus the Thesis provides a face of the Social Studies of Science unnoticed by much of the literature, more responsive to the comparison of sociological and philosophical views of science in the context of the so-called "war on science". Thus the Thesis does not subscribe an internal approach of the epistemic progress, but, on the contrary, it is suggested that the simultaneous consideration of internal and extra-disciplinary factors is so successful as an innovative strategy for analyze a field that, by extending the domain of the social explanation to the field of physical and natural phenomena, has led to one of the most complex cases of disciplinary interaction.
