The Loquat Tree and the Lion

This paper traces the trajectory of a young loquat tree, central to my art-based research, and frames its development as a biographical narrative. In dialogue with the corresponding author, the account navigates both the botanical life cycle of the plant and its conceptual role within broader theoretical frameworks. Specifically, the discussion engages the dichotomy between homogenization and singularization, and between systems and objects, drawing upon notions of network and assemblage. Concurrently, the paper explores experimental modes of writing within the context of artistic research training, positioning the loquat tree as a site of methodological and epistemological inquiry.
