Sobre la dimensión ética-metafísica del lenguaje en Emmanuel Levinas

En el presente trabajo nos proponemos hacer una lectura de la obra levinasiana que apunta a dilucidar la relación que establece entre metafísica, ética y lenguaje, como los tres pilares fundamentales sobre los cuales se asienta toda su producción filosófica. Intentaremos mostrar en qué sentido Lévinas presenta a la ética como la filosofía primera (o metafísica), y en qué medida ésta se identifica con el discurso o lenguaje. Según nuestro filósofo contemporáneo, el discurso instaura una relación excepcional en la que el sujeto en primera persona, es decir, el yo, puede estar concernido por el otro sin que éste sea asimilado ni reducido por aquél. El discurso, entendido como metafísica o relación del Mismo y del Otro en términos levinasianos, hace posible que el sujeto salga de sí y se abra a una relación ética, que renuncia a todo tipo de violencia con su prójimo. Para ello, analizaremos principalmente su obra de consagración, Totalidad e infinito, pero también De otro modo que ser o más allá de la esencia. In this paper we propose to read Lévinas’s work in a way that points to elucidate the relation that he establishes between metaphysics, ethics and language, as the tree fundamental basis that support all his philosophical production. We will intent to show in which sense Lévinas presents ethics as first philosophy (or metaphysics), and to what extent it identifies with discourse or language. According to our contemporary philosopher, discourse found an exceptional relationship in which the subject in first person, i.e., the I, can be concern about the other without this one being assimilated not reduced by that one. Discourse, understood as ‘metaphysics’ or relationship between the Same and the Other en levinasian’s terms, makes possible that the subject exits himself and opens to an ethical relation, that renounces to all kind of violence to his neighbor. In order to reach our objective, we will analyze mainly his consecrated work, Totality and infinity, but also Otherwise than being or beyond essence. Fil: Ale, María Soledad.
