La Complejidad de la Complejidad

Philosophy and science come both from the same source: the need of mankind to comprehend the world. Greek philosophy, and all the civilization emerging from it, reveal the deep influence of a series of dualisms. At the basement of all of these, there is the distinction of what is true and what is false. Evidently, the world is not simple and there is not one universal explanation for all phenomena. However, Greek philosophers discovered that some phenomena could be understood and then predicted. They discovered that this comprehension of phenomena is achievable through the numerical structure sustaining all things; thus, if we get the knowledge of that numerical structure we can control the world. Pitagorian school of knowledge developed in this way a concern on mathematics that permeates western science until today.
