INTEGRACION SIMBOLICA. EL IMPACTO DE LA COMUNICACIÓN EN LA CREACION DEL TEJIDO SOCIAL DE MARACAIBO, VENEZUELA

This article tends to establish the role communication plays in thedevelopement of the social cohesion, in Maracaibo (Venezuela). A model ofanalysis have been made by comparing both the material and the symbolicreality. As a result, two significant conclusions are taken into account: firstly,that the potentiality -technologically sapeaking- of the media along with itscapacity of producing satisfaction to the audience, contributes to attenuatethe social contradictions. Secondly, nowadays, the construction of citizenshipsuggests more equality in the exercise of the communicative interchange.
