Determinismo tecnológico y determinismo histórico-social.

Se analizan críticamente tres modalidades del determinismo en la economía de la innovación: las vertientes sociológica, mística y posindustrialista. Se plantea que el reduccionismo y la omisión de los condicionamientos sociales conduce a interpretaciones fetichistas del cambio tecnológico. Se estudian también las dificultades de diversos enfoques anti-deterministas para forjar una alternativa a la tesis del imperativo tecnológico. Se argumenta en favor de un tipo de determinismo histórico-social, que permita contextualizar el fenómeno y superar la mera descripción. Se postula que resulta posible establecer cuáles son las leyes que regulan la innovación y que esta definición clarifica el papel del individuo en este proceso.
Three forms of determinism in the economy of innovation are subjected to critical scrutiny: its sociological, mystical and post industrial aspects. It is posited that reductionism and the omission of social conditioning lead to fetishistic interpretations of technological change. The difficulties involved in various anti-determinist approaches are also examined in order to devise an alternative to the theory of the imperative nature of technology. A form of socio-historical determinism is proposed which would allow the to phenomenon contextualize and which would go beyond mere description. It is postulated that establishing the laws which govern innovation is possible and that this definition sheds light on the role of the individual in this process.
