A literatura de testemunho e a violência de Estado Literature of testimony and state violence

Este artigo discute duas grandes concepções de literatura de testemunho. Uma delas desenvolve-se no âmbito dos estudos sobre a literatura latino-americana; outra é dominante no campo da reflexão sobre a shoah, termo amplamente utilizado para substituir a palavra holocausto. Ambas entendem ser a mimesis a natureza da literatura; no entanto, desenvolvem indagações bastante diversas sobre as possibilidades de a palavra representar a realidade, formulando, no limite, hipóteses antagônicas de interpretação da produção literária que tem sido designada pelo conceito de testemunho. Porém, aparte esse antagonismo, nos últimos anos a expressão tem remetido sempre a uma relação entre literatura e violência.<br>This article discusses two great conceptions about literature of testimony. One of them grows up from the Latin American literature; the other, from the thought on shoah, a largely employed word for holocaust. Both see mimesis as the essence of literature, but have different understandings about whether literature can represent reality - they even elaborate antagonic interpretative hypothesis about the literary production related to the concept of testimony. Despite that antagonism, at late the concept has always addressed to the relation between literature and violence.
