Seguimiento de pacientes bajo tratamiento con aminoglucósidos

Durante los meses de octubre y noviembre de 1984, 36 pacientes del Hospital St. Clare's (Nueva York, EE.UU.)fueron sometidos a terapia (I.V. o I. M.) de gentamicina y tobramicina. Los mismos fueron controlados por el Servicio de Farmacia con el objeto de verificar si las dosis eran concordantes con la presencia de una infección, el peso y el estado de la función renal de los pacientes y la posible aparición de reacciones adversas. 33 pacientes (91,7 %) mostraron tratamiento adecuado y 3(8.3%) no cumplieron con el mismo, pero fue corregido con posterioridad.
At St. Clare's Hospital (New York, U.S.A.), during October 2nd November 1983, 36 patiens under-went an I.V. or I.M. gentamicin or tobramycin therapy. Those patients have been followed up by the Pharmacy staff, in order to check the presence of an infection, the appearance of adverse reactions, and the right dosage prescribe daccording to the patient's weight and renal function. 33 patients (91.7%) showed a treatment in accordance with the prestablished rules, and only 3 (8.3%) didn't but they have been adjusted lately
