ABSTRACT: (A new species of Microstachys (Euphorbiaceae) from Espinhaço Mountain Range, State of Bahia, Brazil). We describe a new species of Microstachys endemic to Espinhaço Mountain Range: Microstachys longiflora. This uncommon species with long pedicellate flowers and fruits occurs in campos rupestres and share some similarities, particularly in vegetative traits with M. daphnoides. A distribution map, detailed illustration, taxonomic notes and a preliminary assessment of its conservation status are presented.
