<i>Lucía Miranda</i>: o el camino de la extrañeza a la absorción

En este trabajo analizaremos los presupuestos ideológicos y programáticos que se traslucen en la novela <i>Lucía Miranda</i> de Eduarda Mansilla. Escritora en un país donde sólo las elites tenían acceso a la escritura y a la alta cultura, en la primera parte de la novela, Eduarda Mansilla plantea una serie de escenas de lectura a través de las cuales defiende las bondades de la educación popular. Por otra parte, en la segunda parte del libro, le interesa arribar, después de presentar el choque entre culturas,-la letrada representada por los españoles y la oral representada por los timbúes- a una síntesis de opuestos que rescate lo mejor de unos y otros; y en ese intento deja traslucir el proyecto ideológico al que adscribe. El juego de apropiaciones, proyecciones y entrecruzamientos que vinculan a <i>Lucía Miranda</i> con el romancero, las escenas de lectura y el <i>Cantar del Mío Cid</i>, permiten dar cuenta de una elección que no escapa a condicionamientos personales, familiares y de clase que tienen como marco la historia argentina y el horizonte de expectativas de la época. In this paper the ideological and programmatic assumptions underlying the novel <i>Lucía Miranda</i> by Eduarda Mansilla are analysed. A woman writer in a country where only the elites had access to writing and to high culture, Eduarda Mansilla presents in the first part of her novel a series of reading scenes through which she extols the virtues of popular education. In the second part of the book, on the other hand, once she has introduced the culture clash-of the literate culture represented by the Spanish and the oral culture represented by the timbúes-she seeks to achieve a synthesis of opposites that would highlight the best in each. It is in this attempt that she reveals the ideological project that she advocates. The interplay of appropriations, projections and interweavings connecting <i>Lucía Miranda</i> with the romancero, the reading scenes, and the <i>Cantar del Mío Cid</i> make it possible to shed some light on a choice that does not avoid personal, family and class constraints within the context of Argentinian history and the horizon of expectations at that time.
