Úrazové pojištění zaměstnanců – minulost, přítomnost, budoucnost

The article focuses on the issue of employee accident insurance. The author examines the historical perspective, detailing the development of legal regulations on employee accident insurance from the 19th century to the present. Furthermore, the author critically evaluates the constitutional conformity of the current legal framework. In the context of the Constitutional Court’s decision-making practice and with reference to the explanatory report on Act No. 266/2006 Sb., on employee accident insurance, the author concludes that the current concept of insurance regulation for work-related injuries and occupational diseases is unconstitutional. In conclusion, the author briefly outlines possible future solutions for the legal regulation of employee accident insurance in the Czech Republic and indicates the preferred option. The author also points to potential initial parametric settings of the future system.
