As bases teóricas da história ambiental

O artigo analisa a emergência da história ambiental, como uma ciência consciente de si mesma, no contexto histórico e cultural da passagem do século XX para o século XXI. Ele define a história ambiental como uma investigação aberta e não reducionista das interações entre sistemas sociais e sistemas naturais ao longo do tempo. Também são discutidos os fatores sociológicos e as principais questões epistemológicas presentes na constituição desse novo campo historiográfico.<br>The article analyzes the emergence of environmental history as a self-conscious science in the historical and cultural context of the passage of the twentieth to the twenty-first century. He defines environmental history as an open and non-reductive investigation of the interactions between social systems and natural systems over time. Also discussed are the sociological factors and the fundamental epistemological issues present in the constitution of this new historiographical field.
