A Renovação Carismática Católica: algumas observações

ESTE texto trata o tema da Renovação Carismática Católica (RCC) no Brasil a partir de uma perspectiva sociopsicológica. Evitando cair em posições de sim e não, a reflexão está organizada em dois pontos principais. No primeiro são apresentadas observações e informações destinadas a situar o leitor ante a realidade da RCC em suas fontes, desenvolvimento e atuais cenários. O segundo ponto é mais analítico. Pergunta-se nele pelas funções da religião e se procura averiguar se e como a RCC realiza essas funções básicas. No fim, se acena ao dilema de fundo da RCC: de um lado, a carregada ênfase na religiosidade subjetiva de seus membros e, do outro, o perigo nada irreal de esquecer o testemunho social que a Igreja Católica do Brasil vê como sendo uma dimensão constitutiva da resposta religiosa ao que o "Espírito fala hoje às Igrejas".<br>THIS paper explores the theme from a more psycho-sociological view point, trying to avoid a moralistic approach to the polemic question of the real meaning of this movement in the brazilian Catholic Church to-day and in the future. The article is divided in two main topics. In the first are presented some important informations about the origin, development and present situation of the RCC. In the second and more analytical point, he tries a brief analysis of this movement, discussing the main functions of a catholic spiritual movement in modern society and culture, with emphasis in the formation of a christian-catholic personal and collective identity. The main dilemma of RCC seems to be how to conciliate its strong accent on subjectivity with the social responsabilty of catholics in Brazil to-day.
