O reconhecimento, entre a justiça e a identidade Recognition, between justice and identity

Pretende-se, neste artigo, discutir o recente debate entre Honneth e Fraser, cujo ponto central é determinar o alcance e os limites da perspectiva do reconhecimento para a análise das modernas sociedades do Ocidente. Esses autores discutem os principais pontos envolvidos na teoria do reconhecimento, suas fontes, as tematizações filosófica e política, a construção de uma teoria social e os pressupostos para se pensar uma teoria da justiça. Ambos, mas cada um a seu modo, pretendem estabelecer uma posição crítica em relação às lutas sociais contemporâneas, teorizar o lugar da cultura no capitalismo e pensar padrões de justiça.<br>This article approaches the recent debate between Axel Honneth and Nancy Fraser, the focus of which being to determine the reach and the limits of recognition as a perspective for the analysis of modern Western societies. Those authors discuss the main aspects of the theory of recognition, its sources, the philosophical and political topics, the construction of a social theory and the assumptions for a theory of justice. Both intend - but each on his/her own way - to establish a critical position about the contemporary social struggles, elaborate the place of culture in capitalist societies, and think about standards of justice.
