Migrar y seguir perteneciendo: Intimidad, ausencia eclesiástica y competencia lúdica en la AnataCarnaval aymara de Chiapa (Chile)

El artículo analiza la fiesta de la Anata-Carnaval en el pueblo precordillerano Chiapa en la región de Tarapacá, Norte Grande de Chile. Se sugiere que esta celebración se constituye como evento principal de reproducción de sentidos de pertenencia local, así como de procesos de resignificación identitaria – abordados aquí desde mecanismos de etnificación y comunalización – de la inmensa mayoría de quienes migraron del pueblo. A través de una participación observante mediada por mi rol como fotógrafo en festividades, desarrollé una etnografía multisituada que permitió realizar entrevistas en profundidad a una persona que vive de forma permanente, otra que lo hace de manera estacionaria y una tercera que retornó al pueblo. Estas dan cuenta de las implicancias que la Anata-Carnaval conlleva para la construcción colectiva de la identidad chiapeña actual. Se esboza como hipótesis que la migración no rompe con la pertenencia comunitaria. Para ello, se propone que las particularidades de esta festividad: intimidad; ausencia de la iglesia; y la competencia lúdica ancestral de Mankazaya (parcialidad de abajo) y Arakzaya (parcialidad de arriba) mantienen y reproducen dinámicas aymara propias que implican para quienes migraron hacia ciudades del Norte Grande chileno la posibilidad y responsabilidad de mantener los lazos comunitarios y seguir perteneciendo. The article analyzes the Anata-Carnival festivity celebrated in the Andean town of Chiapa in the Tarapacá Region, Great North of Chile. I suggest that this celebration constitutes one of the main events that promote the reproduction of feelings of local belonging, as well as of processes of identity resignification for the vast majority of those who have migrated from this town to cities addressed here through ethnicization and communalization mechanisms. Adopting an observant participation methodology mediated through my role of photographer of Andean festivities, as well as through a multi-sited ethnography that allowed to conduct in depth interviews with people who live permanently, stationary or have returned to this town, I reveal the implications that the Anata-Carnival has for the collective identity-construction of the people of Chiapa, under the hypothesis that migration does not break with community membership. I propose that the characteristics of this holiday: intimacy; absence of the church; and the ancestral playful competence of Mankazaya (partiality from below) and Arakzaya (partiality from above), allow for the reproduction of Aymara dynamics that translate for those who migrated to citys in the Great North of Chile in the possibility and responsibility of maintaining community ties and continuing to belong.
