Cruzando fronteras: Narrativas de la experiencia migratoria de ‘mujeres chilenas’ en Argentina

El artículo tiene como objetivo reflexionar en torno a las narrativas orales de las experiencias de las ‘mujeres chilenas’ –jóvenes y de sectores medios– que han migrado recientemente a la Argentina. Se exponen analíticamente los resultados de un grupo focal que reunió testimonios directos sobre las motivaciones, trayectorias y percepciones y valoraciones de este colectivo migrante. Un marco histórico sobre la migración chilena ha permitido caracterizarlo y diferenciarlo de la migración de antaño, ‘motivada’ en primer lugar por razones políticas y económicas. Concluimos que la motivación del proyecto migratorio de estas ‘mujeres chilenas’ responde a intereses educativos, culturales y/o personales. En cuanto a su identidad migrante señalamos que se ha ido configurando en base a saberes y prácticas de la sociedad receptora en interacción con lo aprendido e internalizado en la sociedad de origen. Del mismo modo, la identidad de género que se ha ido moldeando según las lógicas del sistema de relaciones sociales generizadas de cada contexto This article aims to reflect about the oral narratives of 'Chilean women' experiences –young and from middle class sectors– which have recently migrated to Argentina. It exposes analytically the results of a focus group that brought direct testimony on the motivations, trajectories, perceptions and assessments of these migrants. An historical framework of the Chilean migration has allowed to characterize it, and to differentiate it from the migration of yesteryear motivated by political and economic reasons. We conclude that the motive for the migration project of these 'Chilean women' responds to educational, cultural and/or personal interests. In terms of their migrant identity we note that has been formed on the basis of knowledge and practices of the host society in interaction with what they have learned and internalized in the society of origin.
