Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal remaja-orangtua dengan regulasi emosi siswa SMKN 5 Semarang. Regulasi emosi mempengaruhi remaja dalam bersikap dan berperilaku sesuai norma dan nilai yang ada. Keluarga merupakan tempat remaja belajar mengeksrepsikan emosinya. Hubungan remaja dengan orangtua, khususnya proses komunikasi interpersonal dapat memengaruhi perkembangan emosi remaja. Penelitian ini melibatkan 467 siswa SMK. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Skala Komunikasi Interpersonal Remaja-Orangtua (34 aitem; α= 0,922) dan Skala Regulasi Emosi (31 aitem; α= 0,866). Teknik analisis data pada penelitian menggunakan uji korelasi Product Moment dari Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara komunikasi interpersonal remaja-orangtua dengan regulasi emosi pada siswa SMKN 5 Semarang (rxy=0,555; p<0,001). Hal ini menunjukan bahwa semakin tinggi komunikasi interpersonal remaja-orangtua, maka semakin tinggi regulasi emosi pada siswa SMKN 5 Semarang.
