Summary

Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

The names listed are listed under the category headings as issued by the Vatican. We have added a known sub-category in the case of expert-facilitators and expert-theologians. Overall, there were 363 voting members of the Synod on Synodality. What is not evident by extracting the names in this fashion is that the majority of women were, inevitably, given the structure of the Synod of Bishops, in the category of personal nominations by Pope Francis. It is also important to state that other women contributed to the following functions during the years 2021–24 of the Synod’s running: women appointed as consultors to the General Secretariat of the Synod (in a similar fashion to women appointed into such roles for other Dicasteries); women who took part in the meeting in Frascati in September 2022 to discern the local reports and help draft the Document for the Continental Stage; women who took part in the continental assemblies which occurred between the local listening stage and the Plenary Assemblies in Rome; women who acted as interns to assist the General Secretariat in its work; and women who formed the synod teams at the diocesan and national episcopal conference levels across the globe to assist in the synodal process.
