Summary

Descripción general del contenido del recurso.

The article provides a theoretical and practical analysis of the pragmatic means of populism and self-presentation in Donald Trump's political speech. The relevance of the study is due to the growing role of populist rhetoric in modern political discourse and the need to reveal the mechanisms of manipulative influence on the consciousness of the electorate. The paper analyzes the main features of populism, the classification of speech acts according to John Searle's theory, as well as the strategies of self-presentation that are implemented in Trump's speeches. The interaction of linguistic and pragmatic means in constructing convincing political messages and the ways in which they influence the audience is studied. Based on the analysis of selected political speeches, it was found that Trump consistently uses assertives, promises and offers as tools for forming the image of a leader. The results of the study emphasize the importance of linguistic and pragmatic approaches for understanding modern political communication and identifying manipulations, which is relevant in the context of global socio-political changes.
