HISTORICAL MILESTONES IN FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL LAW

Specialized literature in the field of international law has established the theory according to which international law emerged and developed from the need to establish an orderly framework for the relationships established within international society, the history of international law being thus closely linked to the stages of evolution and development of society. As a result, the purpose of this study is to highlight the historical landmarks in the formation and development of international law, starting with the era of Antiquity and continuing with the Middle Ages and the transition to the Modern Era, the period between the two World Wars and the contemporary era in which the evolution of international law is closely linked to the international order established after the Second World War.
