The Effect of Teamwork Attitudes on Job Performance: A Study Among Nurses

Aim: To evaluate the impact of nurses' teamwork attitudes on their job performance. Method: A descriptive, correlational quantitative research design was employed. The sample consisted of 350 nurses who worked at a city hospital in Turkey and voluntarily participated. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25 to assess differences in teamwork attitudes and job performance according to nurses' educational levels and years of professional experience. Results: The analysis revealed no statistically significant differences in teamwork attitudes or job performance based on educational level. The mean total score for teamwork attitudes was (3.27+-0.80), while the mean total score for job performance was 3.25 (SD=0.82). A strong positive correlation was found between teamwork attitudes and job performance (r = 0.764; p < 0.001). A strong positive correlation was found between teamwork attitudes and job performance, with the former accounting for 58.4% of the variance in the latter. Conclusion: This study found that nurses working in a city hospital exhibited moderate attitudes toward teamwork and moderate job performance, and that these two measures were strongly positively correlated.
