La Virgen Auxiliadora, patrona de la Patagonia y la Virgen Misionera, patrona de la provincia de Río Negro: construcción identitaria y territorial en el espacio rionegrino

En esta propuesta realizaremos una primera aproximación a dos devociones marianas localizadas en el espacio rionegrino: la Virgen Auxiliadora y la Virgen Misionera, como representaciones y devociones que comparten y construyen identidades y territorialidad. La Virgen Auxiliadora, devoción traída por las Hijas de María Auxiliadora y los Salesianos de Don Bosco, desde Italia a la Argentina en 1875 y a la Patagonia en 1879, se convirtió en 1934, con la creación de la primera diócesis del sur, en Patrona de la Patagonia y del Agro argentino. La Virgen Misionera, patrona de la provincia de Río Negro, surgió como una devoción popular en 1978, en base a un viaje misionero y a la consulta, parroquia por parroquia, de la entonces diócesis de Río Negro que abarcaba toda la provincia. Esta característica de "popularidad" se entiende, no solamente por la consulta democrática del Obispo, sino por el rol de la Virgen en culturas mestizas e indígenas como la rionegrina: su mediación, "los favores a cambio de prestaciones culturales y que tenían bienes y especialistas para el propio culto" y los milagros atribuidos a las imágenes (Marzal, 1994: 165). Nuestro objetivo es aproximarnos al análisis de estas dos devociones marianas en el territorio rionegrino en las que se entrecruzan momentos históricos diversos que las resignifican y generan identidades sociales, como así también espacios de inclusión pero a la vez de exclusión, que construyen territorialidad y sacralidad. Intentaremos analizar a través de la iconografía las representaciones materiales y simbólicas en ambas devociones. In this proposal will make a first approach to two Marian devotions in the Patagonian space: the Our Lady help of Christians and the Missionary Virgin, as representations and competing devotions that share and build identities and territoriality. The Auxiliadora Virgin, devotion brought from Italy to Argentina in 1875 and to Patagonia in 1879, by the daughters of Maria Auxiliadora and the Salesians of Don Bosco, became in 1934, with the creation of the first Diocese of the South, patron of Patagonian and Argentine agricultural. The Missionary Virgen, patron saint of the province of Río Negro, emerged as a popular devotion in 1978, based on a trip devotion missionary and consultation, parish by parish of the then Diocese of Río Negro covering the entire province This "popularity" is meant not only for democratic consultation of the bishop, but the role of the Virgin in the indigenous cultures, her mediation, "the favors in exchange for cultural services and goods were specialists for their own cult "and the miracles attributed to the images (Marzal, 1994: 165). Our purpose is to approach the analysis of these two Marian devotions which intersect different historical moments which change their mining and generate social identities, as well as spaces of inclusion but at the time of exclusion, they build territoriality and sacredness.
