Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi yang sangat pesat saat ini PT.Makmur Jaya Kharisma khususnya pada unit personalia mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan perhitungan. Masalah yang terjadi saat ini yaitu sistem yang digunakan oleh personalia masih menggunakan form manual dan Microsoft Excel. Hal tersebut yang menyebabkan keterlambatan dalam mengambil keputusan pada proses penentuan karyawan terbaik setiap bulan. Dampak lain adalah karyawan sering kali tidak puas dengan keputusan-keputusan sepihak yang diberikan oleh perusahaan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu sistem pendukung keputusan penilaian kinerja karyawan menggunakan metode Weighted Product(WP) di PT. Makmur Jaya Kharisma. Kelebihan dari aplikasi ini adalah mempermudah dan mempercepat proses perhitungan dalam penilaian kinerja karyawan PT. Makmur Jaya Kharisma unit personalia dan rekaptulasi ketercapaian kinerja.
