Summary

Morpho- anatomical characteristics of leaves, stems and flowers of Pluchea sagittalis have been studied. Leaves present: anomocytic stomata; eglandulate septate-flagellate, uniseriate trichomes; glandular trichomes with biseriate foot and bicellular head. The mesophyll is dorsiventral and contains conspicuous lipidic globules in its cells. The stem presents: stomata and trichomes similar to those present in the leaves; cortex with aerenchyma and schizogenous ducts; eustele with collateral vascular bundles and parenchymatous or hollow pith. Flowers, arranged in disciform capitula, present glandular hairs. The main diagnostic characters are the eglandulate and glandulate trichomes, and the presence of lipidic globules in the mesophyll.
