El concepto de las tradiciones discursivas, introducido por el romanista alemán Peter Koch a finales del siglo pasado, ha tenido un fuerte impacto en el estudio de las lenguas iberorrománicas, sobre todo en la lingüística histórica. El presente volumen reúne una serie de estudios en los que se precisa el alcance teórico de este concepto, su arraigo en la teoría del lenguaje de Eugenio Coseriu y también su importancia más allá de los estudios de historia de la lengua.
