Summary

The Japanese enterprise is substantially different from its western counterpart. The enterprise in Japan revolves around the dynamics of their system of labor relations, and its main preoccupation is market share and competitive position. Both the global and the Japanese markets have been changing at incredible speed. So did the Japanese firm, not by choice, but by necessity; its main concern is about surviving in the market. For the Japanese entrepreneur corporate governance is the process whereby an organization adjusts structurally to internal and external circumstances. The key elements that define the structure of the Japanese firm are: human resources, financial resources and inter-firm relations. The combination of these elements determine the peculiar Japanese market, one of the central issues of dispute in international negotiations. Dossier: El desafío asiático
