Un duro camino para la utonomía palestina : Las dificultades para su implementación y los desafíos del futuro

El 4 de mayo de 1994, el líder de la Organización para la Liberación de Palestina, Yasser Arafat, y el primer ministro israelí, Yitzhak Rabin, firmaron en El Cairo la implementación de la autonomía palestina para Gaza y Jericó. A este acuerdo se llegó después de muchas dificultades y después de que el proceso de paz estuviera varias veces a punto de naufragar. Pero los problemas aún no terminaron y quedan todavía varios desafíos por afrontar como la neutralización del extremismo (tanto palestino como israelí), la liberación de todos los presos palestinos, el atraso económico y el agobiante desempleo en las zonas autónomas. On May 4 th, 1994, the leader of the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization), Yasser Arafat, and the israeli premier, Yitzhak Rabin, signed in Cairo the implementation of the Palestinian autonomy for Gaza and Jerico. This agreement was reached after many hindrances and after the whole process of peace was about to fail, many times. But problems have not disappeared yet, and there are still many challenges to face, such as the defeat of extremism (both palestinian and israeli), the liberation of all Palestinian prisoners, the economic backwardness and the overwhelming unemployment in the autonomous areas.
