Competencias Matemáticas en la Educación Inicial / Math Skills in Early Childhood Education

En el presente escrito se hace una crítica a la forma tradicional de abordar las matemáticas en la educación inicial y se presenta la competencia como un concepto que genera prácticas y currículos diferentes en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las matemáticas. Se asumen dos maneras diferentes de abordar el concepto competencia matemática, uno lo presenta como un conocimiento innato y el otro como una construcción sociocultural. Como conocimiento innato, se nace con un conocimiento que nos permite introducirnos y organizarnos en el mundo numérico y de manera general, matemático, esta propuesta de conocimiento se fundamenta en investigaciones que en el campo de la psicología cognitiva se vienen haciendo con niños pequeños. La competencia como construcción cultural, nos ubica en la construcción del conocimiento matemático atendiendo los usos, las prácticas y las relaciones que el hombre establece con las matemáticas, en diferentes contextos de acción. Tanto como conocimiento innato o como construcción social, la competencia matemática es actuada, nos dice que el niño no llega en cero a la institución educativa y genera cambios en el currículo y en la práctica pedagógica. Abstract. In this paper is a critique of the traditional approach math in early childhood education and competition is presented as a concept that generates different curriculum and practices in the teaching and learning of mathematics. They assume two different ways of addressing the mathematical concept of competence, one is presented as an innate knowledge and the other as a sociocultural construction. As innate knowledge, was born with a knowledge that allows us to introduce and organize in the digital world and generally, mathematician, this proposal is based on research knowledge in the field of cognitive psychology have been doing with young children. Competition as a cultural construction, puts us in the construction of mathematical knowledge serving uses, practices and relationships that man establishes with mathematics in different contexts of action. As much as innate knowledge or social construction, mathematical competence is actuated, tells us that the child does not reach zero at the school and creates changes in the curriculum and in pedagogy.
