Summary

In this article, some topics related to the Achilles paradox are presented. First, the problem is solved from a kinematic point of view. Second, the paradox is stated as Zeno did it but with some technical accuracy. Then, this description is reintroduced and a mathematical account of it is made, what leads to the geometrical series. A brief explanation about the idea of a succession of partial sums as function and the limit operation is given. These results are applied to understand the race from Zeno's point of view. This type of problem, with some complexity and which generates interesting discussions and different interpretations, can be dealt with by the teacher in two ways: as a triggering element (generative topic) when introducing a new topic, or as a task of integration and resignificance of knowledge afterwards. This problem can be carried out as an investigation task or project, as a workshop, or as an opening presentation, among other forms. Sección: Artículos de investigación y prácticas pedagógicas
