El Primer Centenario de la Revolución de Mayo

La Argentina de los primeros años del siglo XX es un período que ha sido y es debatido. Recientemente se han acentuado con singular dureza las críticas a nuestro Centenario. El objetivo de este trabajo es recordar que, si bien ese momento de nuestra Historia es merecedor de muchas objeciones -como ocurre con todo hecho histórico- la Argentina de esa época pudo mostrar grandes virtudes, que fueron mundialmente reconocidas. En otros términos, este trabajo procurará salvaguardar un capítulo del patrimonio espiritual de la Nación. El análisis ubicará a la Argentina en lo institucional, económico, social, cultural e internacional en el mundo de comienzos del siglo XX, por entender que los hechos históricos deben ser analizados en el contexto de su tiempo, y que es un gran error prescindir del mismo y pretender juzgar acontecimientos con la perspectiva de otra época. Se examinarán los cuestionamientos, y se comparará el lugar que tenía la Argentina en el concierto de las naciones en los primeros años del siglo XX con el que ocupa un siglo más tarde.
