Incidencia del evento de inundación de 1982-83 sobre el asentamiento humano en el área de Islas del departamento de Victoria, Entre Ríos

En el período abarcado entre noviembre de 1982 y agosto de 1983, el área de islas del Departamento de Victoria, Entre Ríos, soportó la mayor inundación registrada en este siglo. A partir de ese evento, se registró una reducción paulatina del asentamiento humano permanece en el área de islas, proceso que ha sido frecuentemente interpretado como un abandono del sector por parte de la poblacidn isleña. En este artículo nos proponemos mostrar que esa interpretación es incorrecta si se tiene en cuenta que este evento no afectó a una población establecida de manera permanente en un sitio, sino a pobladores que exhiben un patrón de movilidad residencial en el largo plazo. Esto supone analizar la relación entre formas de asentamiento y actividades productivas sobre un plano temporal de considerable profundidad al igual que la percepción que tiene esa población de las crecientes regulares y extraordinarias del río Paraná. During the time period from November 1982 to August 1983, the island area of the Departamento de Victoria, province of Entre Ríos, suffered the worst flood registered in the XXth Century. Immediately after this event, there has been a slow decrease in the permanet human settlement in the island area; this process was many times interpreted as abandonment on the part of the island people. This paperp puports to show this interpretation does not hold true when viewed from the perspective that the event did not affect population living permanently in one place, but rather that the inhabitants show a long term residential mobility pattern. This implies analyzing the relationship between settlements and productive activities in a long term basis of considerableb temporal depth, while at the same time taking into account how this populations views the normal/regular and extraordinary swelling and floods of the Paraná river.
