The Editor-in-Chief has retracted this article. The PCSS has retracted paper "Synthesis and photoluminescence properties of CaMgAl10O17:Sm3+ phosphor for n-UV solid-state lighting". This paper was submitted to the journal Physics and Chemistry of Solid State on August 30, 2023. September 14, 2023: the submission was checked by the Unicheck system and was recommended for work with reviewers. February 27, 2024: Proofreading version sent to authors. March 30, 2024: The editorial office received a letter from the authors of the paper stating that there are no comments on the proofreading. The article was published on May 6, 2024. May 22, 2024: The editorial office received a letter from the authors of the paper stating that this paper was published in another journal. We withdraw your paper from publication in accordance with the principles of COPE (https://publicationethics.org/retraction-guidelines). One of the conditions of submission of a paper for publication is that authors declare explicitly that their work is original and has not appeared in a publication elsewhere. Re-use of any data should be appropriately cited. As such this article represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
