The interest on parallelism has grown in many areas of technology. Hardware development has evolved greatly in the last years, leaving to software developers the goal of building better tools and compilers for parallel computation. Also, symbolic computation must take advantage of parallel computation. The proposal contained in this paper is to use functional languages as a tool to implement adaptive automata using the concepts of symbolic computation VII Workshop de Procesamiento Distribuido y Paralelo (WPDP) Red de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI)
