This paper presents considerations about effects of alternative positions of a punctualluminous source with respect to the perception of depth in a scene generated by a ray tracing system. The work describes a serie of experiments applied to a sample of individuals. The analysis of results of these experiments allows conclude what an adequate choice for the localization of luminous source can brings considerable improvements on perception of depth in a scene viewed on a bidimensional display.
