Los chichas como mitimaes del inca

En el presente trabajo daremos cuenta de la conquista inca de los chichas, de la introducción de mitimaes en su territorio y de la utilización selectiva de aquellos indios para desarrollar diferentes tipos de tareas útiles al inca en territorios vecinos. De tal manera son varias las cuestiones a tratar. En primer lugar intentaremos seguir avanzando en desentrañar la problemática chicha, grupo que, a pesar de su renombre, continúa esquivo a los investigadores. Para ello nos ubicamos temporalmente en el momento durante y posterior a la conquista inca de su territorio. La conquista no fue fácil y, además, situó al Tawantinsuyu en una geografía particular, la frontera con los chiriguanos; esa situación fronteriza condicionó la política incaica de expansión y de control de las sociedades vencidas. Para desarrollar el análisis, se hará necesario definir el término frontera según el uso dado en la documentación de la época. In this paper we deal with the Inca conquest of the Chicha people, the introduction of mitimaes in their territory and the selective use of these Indians to carry out different tasks useful to the Inca in neighbouring territories. So, several issues are discussed. In the first place, we attempt to continue unraveling the Chicha problem; this group, despite being often mentioned by researchers is yet hardly understood. Our research is situated in the time ranging during the Inca conquest of these territories and after it. This conquest was not easily accomplished and it situated the Tawantisuyu in the special geographic environment of the Chiriguano boundary. This frontier situation conditioned the Incaic politics regarding expansion and control of the defeated societies. To undertake this analysis, the meaning of the term frontier must be defined as used in the documents of the moment. Sociedad Argentina de Antropología
